Stay in touch with your students
There is a need of constant communication with the students through consultations and frequent student polls and questionaries about the course and possibilities of course improvement.
Use different methods for feedback
Several methods of feedback can be used to have sources of information regarding the way of continuous improvement of the didactic process. These methods include: (i) anonymous questionnaires completed for both the administration and the dean's office, (ii) the Moodle platform allows users to be questioned at the end of the course and this information is used by the course teachers to improve the teaching method.
Ask (anonymousely) for students expectations
Conduct anonymous surveys of student expectations for the module and repeat mid-module to see if lectures are going in the expected/desired direction.
Make survays on online education and exams
There should be a complex student feedback survey on online education and exams.
Share with students via online means your experiences
Head-cam-helmet broadcast, use of drones in training, in places where only the instructor can go.
Make as many digital practices as possible
In animal husbandry courses, there have been no visits to pig farms since 2018 (swine fever), digitalisation of practical sites is needed, e.g. camera surveillance of pigs on farms.
Use many simulation applications and simulator devices
Teachers should use more virtual simulation apps or simulator devices for preparing students to work with expensive equipment (e.g. learning to fly a drone in a virtual app before trying it in practice with an expensive drone).
Try to use online resources from different providers
The advantage is running laboratories by using virtual resources from elsewhere.
Make use of daily meetings whenever possible
“Daily meeting” during laboratories, where students report on their work, make comments and share ideas are desirable.
Combine online meetings with using specific computer programms
The use of specific computer programs during practical work in combination with video-conferencing is convenient for solving common problems.
